Friends, they come in all shape and sizes (LOL) but even better still, they come in different types. Briefly, at the top of my head, you get the cliche's: friends who are there for you only in good times, the friend who screws you over, BestFriendsForevers, the different gender bestfriend, the friends who ALWAYS 'got your back' etc etc. One particular type of friend that I specifically want to talk about in this post is : The friend who gives you perspective.
I have two people that can do this effectively in my life. And these two will be the one I'll seek when I'm in trouble. They'll tell me the truth, not so that it hurts but so that it cushions my expectations. They wont tell me what to do, but they'll give me DIRECTION. They wont agree with my emotions, rather they'll RATIONALIZE the possibilities. It doesnt have to be the closest person you know, neither does it have to be an absolute stranger, but the fundamental importance is that, its got to be someone you TRUST.
